RITUALS
Although each year's Festival offers enchanting workshops, vending and spontaneous happenings, the heart of WomynSpirit is the alchemical magic of our rituals.
The welcoming ritual on Friday night brings us together to connect and reconnect with one another, as well as set the tone for the weekend.
Saturday evening is when the main spiritual work of the festival is done, with a Samhain ritual weaving magic at this time when the veil between the worlds is the thinnest. There we will reach into the world beyond to learn and remember, grieve and celebrate our ancestors and our Beloved Dead. We will dance the spiral dance and honour each other, ourselves, the earth and the feminine divine.
On Sunday morning, we co-create a ritual that provides moments of celebration and closure for everyone.

WHAT IS SAMHAIN?Samhain (pronounced sah-wen), also known as Hallowmass, is the mid-point between the Autumn Equinox and the Winter Solstice. It's the time after the harvest when things have died or are in a deep trance state. It's a time to remember ancestors and elders who have passed on. It's a time to let go, to grieve, to reflect on our own inner mysteries. This is the time when the veil between the words is the thinnest, a time for divination and communication with our Beloved Dead.
